Released in 2013 by Swedish developer Robert Topala, known online as RobTop, Geometry Dash started as a small project built in the Cocos2d engine. Its concept was simple: guide a square-shaped character through a series of obstacles by tapping to jump, all synchronized to a powerful electronic soundtrack. Yet, within this simplicity lay a challenge so addictive that it sparked a loyal fanbase almost overnight.
Geometry Dash didn’t rely on flashy graphics or complex storytelling. Instead, it thrived on pure gameplay—a throwback to the essence of old-school gaming. Each level required rhythm, timing, and precision, demanding players to learn patterns, master jumps, and adapt to new mechanics in milliseconds. Miss a beat, hit a spike, and it’s back to the start.
